Concert Hall (Major Hall) -- devoted to various types of musical performances
The major hall is designed to accommodate a diverse spectrum of musical performances, ranging from solo violin recitals to large-scale choral concerts presented by up to 120 singers. All types of instrumental music events, such as an orchestral performance or a symphony orchestra concert, can be delivered here. All surfaces covering the ceiling above the stage and seating, floor, and walls use fireproof wood material. The box-like wood structures, varying in size and height, and mounted on both side walls, are acoustic diffusers that scatter sound and prevent unwanted echoes from bouncing off of flat surfaces. Images symbolizing features of Pingtung are transformed into artistic wood sculptures and cleverly mixed with finishes on the side walls--an additional innovative interior design that encompasses both functionality and style.
